Vice President of University Budgeting Nancy Winterbauer is presenting the budget for the board’s approval Thursday. The presentation shows a 3.3 percent hike in tuition and fees and a room and board increase of 1.5 percent.

Winterbauer says it’s necessary to fund mandatory salary increases and as seed money for projects.

Students plan to testify before the board Thursday to ask them not to raise tuition.
