
Recording Secretary
Josephine “Jo” Nagle was elected AFTNJ recording secretary in 2024. She has been a member of the Union of Rutgers Administrators-American Federation of Teachers Local 1766 (URA-AFT) since its inception in 2007 and served as a member of the executive board, as well as the finance, health and safety, and communications committees. Nagle served as vice president for the Newark campus from 2019-21, secretary from 2021-24, and on the bargaining committee in 2022-23.
Nagle has worked at Rutgers Law School in Newark since 2006 and is the continuing legal education administrator. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, worked on Wall Street and later for a local food bank, and was a serial volunteer in the public schools that her five children attended.
