FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Edison State College has a new name.
The Fort Myers school became Florida SouthWestern State College on Tuesday.
While the school has had several names over the years, it has always kept “Edison” as part of its identity. School spokeswoman Teresa Morgenstern told the Naples Daily News the name was changed to avoid possible litigation from Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey.
