“I worked alongside Joseph Del Grosso for 25 years at the Newark Teachers Union and he was never a boss, he was our leader, mentor and brother,” said Newark Teachers Union president John M. Abeigon, who succeeded Del Grosso after his retirement in June. “I learned many valuable life lessons from working with Joe for so long through successive mayors, governors and superintendents. His impact will continue well into the future.”
