University financial oversight takes center stage at latest NJHELC-OSHE meeting

The New Jersey Higher Education Leadership Council on Feb. 25 held its first virtual meeting of 2022 with New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education Dr. Brian Bridges.

Rutgers, MSU and Rowan land on the latest Best Grad Schools list

Rutgers University’s business schools in Newark and New Brunswick tied for 44th in that category on the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Grad Schools report for 2022, which was released this week.

In the education school category, New Jersey was well represented, with Rutgers (New Brunswick) ranking 47th, Montclair State University tied for 103rd and Rowan University tied for 175th.…

Kean, Montclair State plan in-person graduations

Kean University and Montclair State University have plans to hold in-person graduation ceremonies on their respective campuses this spring.

Kean’s commencements will take place May 12-16; Montclair State’s are set for June 7-19.

Meanwhile, Rowan University will have a virtual ceremony May 8, followed by small in-person ceremonies May 10-14. Rutgers University will present a virtual ceremony for the second consecutive year.…

Rowan adjunct completes coronavirus course

In late spring, when Rowan University’s department of biological sciences offered adjunct professor EJ Karetny a special topics seminar for the fall, it didn’t take him too long to settle on a subject.

Dr. Birx visits Rowan, reinforces need for more precautions, self-sacrifices

Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx visited Rowan University on Oct. 6, and during her nearly three-hour visit, she praised the mask-related and social-distancing signage on campus and urged all “to make further self-sacrifices for the protection of their families, their neighbors and their communities.”
