Chiera, Wolfson testify in favor of Bloomfield-Montclair State merger bill

With New Jersey’s Assembly Higher Education Committee about to vote on A5470 (the Bloomfield College-Montclair State University merger bill), AFTNJ President Donna M. Chiera and AFT Local 1904 President Rich Wolfson on June 5 testified in favor of the legislation, which was recently amended to remove anti-labor language.

The U.S. Department of Education recently featured the AFT-supported Red Hawks Rising teacher academy as part of its #InnovatED online video series.

Marten, Ingram salute ARP’s mark on education in joint Newark visit

Rutgers, MSU and Rowan land on the latest Best Grad Schools list

Rutgers University’s business schools in Newark and New Brunswick tied for 44th in that category on the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Grad Schools report for 2022, which was released this week.

A March 16 email sent by Montclair State University to faculty members with a link to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment turned out to be phony and was later described by MSU’s information technology department as a “training message” intended for recipients to “keep your guard up.”

Kean University and Montclair State University have plans to hold in-person graduation ceremonies on their respective campuses this spring.
