James Castiglione, president of the Kean Federation of Teachers, has been vocal about spending and management at the school for years, has also been calling for an outside investigation.

“We support Sen. Sweeney’s call for an independent investigation of Kean University, including a forensic audit of the university’s and the foundation’s finances to be conducted by an outside person of impeccable integrity,” he said Friday. “A legitimate investigation is a necessary first step to repair the impact of the structural racism and misplaced priorities of the Farahi administration on our students, faculty and staff, so that we make Kean University the truly world-class university that the citizens and taxpayers of NJ deserve.”
