Long-awaited university merger costs expected at Monday hearing

Closed-door negotiations continued as lawmakers hashed out changes to a bill that would substantially reorder some of the state’s largest universities.

The bill’s sponsors promised to put a pricetag on the plan when they testify before the Senate budget committee later today.
