Along with the excellence celebrated during Black History Month, there is also a need for “recognizing the inequity of our history, and changing its trajectory for the better,” writes AFT Secretary-Treasurer Fedrick C. Ingram in a guest blog posted Feb. 1 on the Albert Shanker Institute’s website.

He describes school finance as “one of the most foundational school issues we face.”

“We have to continue to fight for the funding our schools need,” Ingram writes. “And we have to make sure that more money and resources go to the schools that need it most.”
