The AFT has scheduled a series of reopening clinics providing strategies and tools for union leaders to use when talking with members and management about how to reopen schools safely.

Clinic dates and times along with AFT’s descriptions are as follows for the virtual sessions:

Jan. 27 at 3:30 p.m. ET — Expanding Access to Testing and Vaccines
Widespread access to testing and vaccines must be the centerpiece of any school reopening plan. Hear from experts and AFT leaders about best practices for addressing testing and vaccine hesitancy and how to engage districts around these issues through collective bargaining and collaboration. Feb. 5 at 3:30 p.m. ET — Implementing Public Health Protocols in Our Schools
Even with expanded access to testing and vaccination, public health protocols like physical distancing and adequate ventilation will remain a critical part of the overall mitigation strategy to reduce transmissions.
