Educators from Garfield, Jersey City, Newark, North Bergen and Perth Amboy met with leaders in New Jersey’s education community in a “Strengthening Teaching, Leading, and Learning” symposium in Jamesburg on August 6. Attendees heard from Dr. Lamont Repollet, NJ Commissioner of Education and experts on leading change within districts to cultivate a systems approach and process for elevating school improvement.
“I’m proud that leaders from AFTNJ locals took time from their summer activities to learn about new strategies to improve the educational systems in their districts so students will succeed and achieve in school and in life,” said AFTNJ President Donna M.Chiera. “It is unfortunate that district administrations were not in attendance to learn more about collaboration. Our dedicated educators will continue to work with our coalition partners in this difficult but important work.”
