They’re calling it a “secret report” and it is one more issue in the growing controversy over the merger of Rutgers-Camden and Rowan University. Sen. Frank Lautenberg is on the case again, saying “This secret report shows that the fix was in long before the merger was even presented to the public. It’s sad that a $30,000 report was commissioned by proponents of the merger to advise them on how to avoid the facts and mislead the public.”

Rowan spokesman Joe Cardona responded, “There’s no secret report. All this is, is us doing our due diligence.” He said the report was commissioned by Rowan and Cooper University Hospital in Camden, its partner in a medical school to open this fall. One of the merger’s biggest proponents is South Jersey Democratic boss George Norcross who is chairman of Cooper’s board.
