GLASSBORO – The Rowan University Board of Trustees unanimously approved a resolution supporting the proposed merger of higher education institutions, with the exception of wording in the legislation that “affect(s) the autonomy of the Rowan governing structure,” according to the resolution.

Trustees voted to largely support the proposed merger Monday evening. The vote came following nearly two hours of a closed door meeting to discuss the legislation.

Trustees agreed to support the merger proposal, though said in its resolution that the bill’s language that would affect the university’s autonomy “requires additional analysis,” according to the resolution.
