Although I happily voted for Gov. Chris Christie in 2009 and wholeheartedly have supported his efforts to cut spending and taxes in our financially reckless state, his proposed takeover of Rutgers-Camden by Rowan smells of being nothing more than a seamy political deal sustaining a private agenda.
Because no details have been provided by the governor, his attitude is reminiscent of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s condescending comment when the ObamaCare legislation was being debated in Congress, “We have to pass the bill so you can find out what’s in it.”
