At separate legislative hearings at either ends of New Jersey Monday, questions continued about the cost of the proposed reorganization of the state’s university system – and who has the authority to make it happen. 
As the Assembly budget committee met at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark to hear comments on Governor Christie’s proposed budget, several speakers and lawmakers asked why his spending plan did not allocate any money for the restructuring, which Christie has been pushing since late January.
