TRENTON — Lawyers and accountants are benefiting from Gov. Chris Christie’s plan to merge Rutgers-Camden with Rowan University and to dismantle the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

NorthJersey.com reports consultant fees have surpassed $566,000 and could reach $1 million even though the proposal could get shelved or changed.
Much of the money is being spent to determine how much the Christie plan will cost. The administration has declined to publicly provide an estimate.
