TRENTON, N.J. – A Rutgers University faculty group said Thursday the schools’ governing boards have made it clear they do not endorse legislation transferring control of the Camden campus.

The group spoke up against the deal on Wednesday before the university’s trustees affirmed their intent to keep control of campuses in Camden, New Brunswick and Newark.

The boards’ affirmation runs counter to legislation that would tie the Camden campus to Rowan University and establish a new joint governing board.
