The Board of Trustees of Kean University held a five-hour emergency meeting on Feb. 9 in response to the allegations that President Dawood Farahi falsified credentials on past resumes.
Ada Morell, the Chair of the Board, moved to adjourn the meeting late Thursday night after over a three-hour closed, executive session, announcing that they will reconvene “early next week,” where a final judgment will be decided.

The board met at the Kean Hall Conference Center to a standing-room-only crowd of students, faculty, staff and alumni.
After swearing in Lamont Repollet and Richard Trabert to the board, they immediately moved to close the public session and into a private executive session.

While the audience was waiting for the board to return, Dr. James Castiglione, a Physics professor and President of the Kean Federation of Teachers, said that this is the students’ university and “the academic integrity and the reputation of your [the students’] university determines the value of your degree, and the students need to make their voices heard to protect the academic integrity of their degrees.”
