New Jersey will have multiple buses leaving the morning of August 24 to attend the rally and march in DC. Information and registration for AFT members and their families will be posted here.
The march is part of the AFT’s proud history fighting for civil rights. We were on the ground, helping organize and mobilize for the historic event that led to the passage of the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act, and other progressive programs and rights that every American still benefits from today. Denying a first-class public education is something we didn’t accept then, and we don’t accept it now.
Join with us on Aug. 24 to reclaim the promise and renew the call for social, political and economic justice.
The AFT will join with civil rights organizations, women’s and student groups, environmentalists, faith leaders and other labor unions, to honor our continued work toward ensuring economic fairness, social justice and an equal opportunity for all who call America home.
In unity,
Lorretta Johnson
AFT Secretary-Treasurer
