To mark Black History Month, the Soulsville Foundation is offering free access throughout February to “Soul of America: Stax Meets Motown,” starting Feb. 2.

Geared toward educators, students and schools, the 45-minute virtual production follows students from Detroit (where Motown Records was founded) as they take a field trip to Memphis and visit the Stax Museum of American Soul Music (which sits on the Stax Records site). When the Detroit students go next door and interact with Stax Music Academy students, passionate music comparisons are made, resulting in “a high school musical … all with classic 1960s soul music,” as described by the Soulsville Foundation.

Those who register as educators for “Stax Meets Motown” will receive links to study guides. For more information and to register, click here.
