New Jersey has finished first in the education category of U.S. News & World Report’s Best States rankings for 2021.

This ranking “measures how well states educate students in preschool, K-12 and different levels of higher education,” according to the media company.

“With our historic investments in education, we’re ensuring lifelong success for our students,” New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy tweeted March 9 in acknowledging the distinction.
