The education workforce in New Jersey dipped by 11.2% due to dismissals from June 2019 to June 2020, placing the Garden State second to Delaware for the biggest percentage decrease during that time, according to a recent survey by the job-search site Zippia.

“With 716,700 educational workers last year, the 11.2% difference for this year is shocking,” writes Zippia, which used data from BLS to make its determinations. “That leaves the state with 636,200 workers to ensure that students are staying far enough away from each other while keeping the schools clean and disinfected.”
