Fox News has opted not to broadcast an AFT Solidarity ad that knocks President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for how they’ve handled school reopenings during the pandemic.
A Fox News representative says the network asked AFT to “revise the ad for accuracy.” The 30-second spot was scheduled to air on Fox News during prime time on Aug. 26 and 27.
In a statement, AFT President Randi Weingarten called out Fox News executives for wanting to “pick and choose how to apply the First Amendment when it comes to brave teachers telling the truth about who’s to blame for the current chaos of school reopenings.”
