The American Federation of Teachers joined other organizations in a joint statement regarding coronavirus-related safety for students, educators and families as the Trump administration looks to urge government officials across the United States to open school buildings this fall.
“Reopening schools doesn’t happen with an all-caps tweet,” AFT President Randi Weingarten said in response to the White House’s July 7 event.
