On September 8, Greater Monsignor Donovan Community Federation of Teachers local ratified its first contract. The union President Danielle Boyd kept her members involved and informed throughout the negotiations. The new agreement provides for a 2010-2011 school year bonus for every member of the bargaining unit. From 2011 to 2014, the contract calls for an average salary increase of 2.5 % each year. The union was able to negotiate a fully paid and improved health benefits package for all its members. Finally, all practices regarding working conditions including Summer hours are incorporated in the new agreement.
