“I may not agree with who they choose as a law firm, but I don’t have the vote there as to who they can hire and fire as a law firm,” said Ron Rios, Middlesex County Freeholder Director, when questioned about Middlesex County College engaging notorious union-busting law firm Jackson Lewis to handle contract negotiations with the faculty.

“I presume you would not agree with that action on the part of the college?” asked Virgil Blanco, professor and Middlesex County College Faculty Federation Vice President.

In response, Rios said, “We have never hired them in my tenure on the freeholder board.”

The union has called on the Middlesex County College Board of Trustees to fire the firm and bargain a fair contract with the union and has launched an online petition drive at www.local1940aft.org .
