An interview on Aug. 6 with historian, professor and author Ibram X. Kendi will mark the launch of “Many Threads, One Fabric,” a yearlong series offering professional development and training to address institutional racism. The series is being presented in partnership by the American Federation of Teachers and New York State United Teachers.

Joining Kendi for the hourlong virtual interview at 4 p.m. on Aug. 6 will be AFT President Randi Weingarten and NYSUT President Andy Pallotta.

Kendi’s books include “How to Be an Antiracist,” a New York Times bestseller. A Boston resident, he is a CBS News correspondent and is set to become the 2020-21 Frances B. Cashin Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University.
