Teachers across the state held a Day of Action on Wednesday, including the American Federation of Teachers at Rowan University’s Glassboro campus.
The union gathered in Savitz Hall with information and a petition asking for fair contracts for its members. Rowan University faculty, staff, and coaches have been without a contract since the previous contracted expired in July.
“Ultimately, we are looking for a fair contract,” said Local 2373 President Joseph Basso. “We are looking for some protection for people who do not have multiple-year contracts and a limit in pay increases. It is about fairness and protecting people who are the most vulnerable.”
