check Jan 2 Constitutional amendments and changes in by-laws The executive board or the membership of the submitting local needs to approve the proposed change prior to its submission. There must be the signature and the local title of at least two (2) officers of the local offering the change(s) certifying the approval process has been followed. When submitting the proposed changes, first identify the article/by-law and state the existing language along with the proposed language. All constitutional amendments and changes in by-laws must be typed and sent to the President of AFTNJ in quadruplicate.

Jan 5 Resolutions must be submitted. The executive board or the membership of the submitting local needs to approve the resolution prior to its submission. There must be the signature and the local title of at least two (2) officers of the local offering the resolution, certifying that the approval process has been followed. All resolutions must be typed and sent to the President AFTNJ in quadruplicate.

Jan 10 Any proposed changes or new proposed language in constitution or by-laws to be considered at the convention must be received in the AFTNJ office.

Feb 9 Convention Call Notice (date, time and place) to be sent to all locals in good standing. All proposed changes in or new proposed language to be mailed out to locals in good standing.
 check March 10 A nominating petition for all officers available for download here must be completed and returned. Any person seeking to be elected as an executive officer (president, treasurer, secretary, executive vice president higher ed, executive vice president PK-12) or as a vice president (12 for higher ed; 12 for PK12) must return the petition with 25 signatures of AFTNJ members in good standing. The members do not have to be of the person’s home local.
 check March 10 Local delegate lists must be submitted to AFTNJ office.
 check March 20 Sample ballot will be posted on AFTNJ web site.
 check March 26 All delegates will receive a convention agenda and all documents supporting convention business.
