Newark’s race for mayor: Baraka and Jeffries at the end of old-school battle with new cash

“They are kinda tired of lawyers being in charge of our government,” said Joe DelGrosso, president of the Newark teachers union, which has endorsed Baraka. “The perception is that when Ras becomes mayor, you become mayor,” referring to Baraka’s campaign mantra.
