Pat Paradiso has been a teacher in Perth Amboy since 1997, starting as a substitute teacher and eventually being hired full time to teach third grade.
During her career, she’s also been an elementary math specialist, an elementary math intervention teacher and a secondary English Language Arts teacher.
Paradiso was recruited to be a building rep by a fellow teacher around 2004. She was subsequently appointed to the Perth Amboy Federation’s executive council around 2010 and has had many opportunities to travel for PAF and for AFT national. She became a delegate for AFTNJ and one of its PreK-12 vice presidents shortly after that.
She was part of the Next Generation Science Standards team with AFT and an original member of the Share My Lesson team, which provided her with the opportunity to travel and interact with other AFT members from around the world.
In 2015, Paradiso was elected president of the Perth Amboy Federation and has since been reelected three times.
