Recording Secretary
Josephine “Jo” Nagle was elected AFTNJ recording secretary in 2024. She has been a member and steward of the Union of Rutgers Administrators-American Federation of Teachers Local 1766 (URA-AFT) since its inception in 2007 and currently serves as a member of the executive board and on the communications, health and safety, and finance committees. Nagle served as vice president for the Newark campus from 2019-21, has served as secretary since 2021, and served on the bargaining committee in 2022-23.
Nagle has worked at Rutgers Law School in Newark since 2006 and is the continuing legal education administrator. She received her bachelor’s degree in international relations at the University of Pennsylvania, worked on Wall Street and for a local food bank, and was active in the public school districts while raising her five children.
