The American Federation of Teachers New Jersey (AFTNJ) and Healthcare Professionals and Allied Employees (HPAE) have endorsed Democrat Andy Kim for Congress in New Jersey’s 3rd district.
“Andy Kim is committed to stopping the attacks on health and social security programs that keep Americans healthy and for improving education for future generations,” said Donna M. Chiera, AFTNJ President. “Rep. (Tom) MacArthur’s positions are lock-step in line with a federal administration that is actively trying to take healthcare away from Burlington and Ocean county residents, is demonstrably hostile to public education and voted against common-sense gun reforms such as denying gun purchases to known or suspected terrorists while supporting expanding concealed gun carry legislation to New Jersey.”
The two unions represent more than 40,000 education and health care professionals in New Jersey, with 1,300 members in Kim’s district.
