The AFT and the American Association of University Professors on Feb. 10 rolled out an effort that prioritizes teaching, ensures job security and addresses student debt relief, among other goals.

“We need to reenvision the Higher Education Act so that ‘knowledge being power’ is not just a province of the rich,” said AFT President Randi Weingarten. “ ‘Knowledge is power’ means having access.”
