My union story: What made me want to join the URA was seeing, first-hand, the commitment the union made to upholding the rights of employees and the care and concern of being an inclusive group. It made me decide not to only join the union but to become an active member. In my many roles in the union, I have learned to be responsible and accountable to the people I represent, to provide an inclusive and collaborative environment for the members, encourage participation; tackle and implement changes to correct problems, and to find creative and innovative ways to improve the organization.
