My union story: I was hired by Newark the year the state took over and the union held several rallies that year that sparked my interest and passion. Since then, I have been actively engaged in community organizing and unionizing and helping other to improve instructional practices.
Career highlights/achievements: Being elected as NTU Secretary Treasurer was truly an honor, but when I was appointed as NTU Lead Negotiator, I was blown away. Being able to successfully negotiate a stellar contract against the team appointed by Christopher Cerf is a standout success. I never tire fighting of fighting for our members.
Interests/hobbies: Avid hiker, motorcyclist, camper, boardgamer, reader, writer, wanderer.
Looking ahead: Winding down an amazing career as a teacher into retirement, and hopefully becoming more and more active at the state and national levels of our awesome AFT.
